Prof. Madeleine Duncan

Rural Development Consultant

Prof. Madeline Duncan is an Associate Professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Cape Town, specializing in Occupational Therapy.


With a rich academic background and extensive expertise, she has made significant contributions to the fields of mental health, community-based rehabilitation, and rural development. Her primary research and teaching interests focus on the intersection of poverty, psychiatric disability, and human occupation.


Prof. Duncan is deeply engaged in exploring the philosophy and ethics of occupational therapy, applying social inquiry and participatory research methods to address pressing societal challenges.
